THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING INITIATIVE EUROPEAN PARTNERSHIP – THE POINT OF REFERENCE FOR A NEW HOUSING PARADIGM.
The Accelerator Programme of the Affordable Housing Initiative—led by Housing Europe in partnership with EBC, ECTP, Energy Cities, GNE Finance, SINTEF and co-funded by the European Union—focuses on creating or renewing social and affordable neighbourhoods.
Through tailored guidance, including financial advice, mentorship, and capacity-building, the programme addresses energy poverty, promotes inclusion, ensures affordability, and reduces emissions.
Now in its second phase (2024–2026), the Affordable Housing Initiative goes beyond earlier achievements.
Between 2022 and 2024, the Consortium developed blueprints for a just energy transition centred on affordability and liveability, supported 22 districts, engaged 13 mentors to assist local renovation actors, created a funding simulator, and organised study visits across Europe.
