EPEKA – housing cooperative for all, is planning to implement the Decent Life for All project, with the aim of establishing the first European Housing Cooperative in our country (SCE, Detailed conditions for the establishment of an SCE based in Slovenia are laid down in Regulation 1435/2003/EC and the Act on
Cooperatives) and to carry out the plans and prepare all the necessary documentation for the establishment of around 20 of the first pilot private housing cooperative in Slovenia.
By the end of the project, the plan is to purchase a property for the implementation of the activity. In addition, the legal body EPEKA will be set up as a European housing cooperative, SCE with limited liability, also in Germany with a view to internationalising capital in the EU and thus strengthening the authenticity of Slovenian social economy across borders.
The project to set up a tenant cooperative housing system in the field of the social economy will be implemented in the future. It will be characterised by elements of social innovation as, in addition to renting out housing, it will carry out some activities aimed at green and digital transition by ensuring sustainable living and will integrate several digital business models into its operations to increase participation and democracy in community processes, both in the housing itself and life in general.
